Dani's sister and parents (who are probably at the end of the life cycle and notice it's also winter) might have been killed by the cult or Pelle, nobody would suspect a thing because of her sister's illness. Also Pelle is very kind and seems to like Dani from the beginning, and the Welcome home greet only to Dani and not others... It's like Pelle had planned this for a long time.
